Refund Policy
This page covers Groundwork purchases billed through Stripe at rarefied.earth (subscriptions and machine payments). Consulting engagements use the refund and payment terms in their signed agreement, not this page. The operating company is Earth Evocation Incorporated d/b/a Rarefied Earth.
Subscriptions (Pro, Operating, Studio)
- Cancel any time from the dashboard or by email to billing@rarefied.earth. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period; nothing renews after that.
- If we charge you for a period you did not use because of a billing error on our side, we refund that charge in full.
- Unused time after a cancel-within-period request: email billing@rarefied.earth. We refund the unused remainder of the current paid period on a straight day-count basis when the request arrives within 14 days of the charge and the account has not been used for production API volume after the request.
- The 14-day full-access trial takes no card and never charges, so there is nothing to refund for the trial itself.
Machine payments (per-request / MPP)
- A successful machine payment buys a single completed request. If payment settles and the paid resource fails to deliver because of our infrastructure, email billing@rarefied.earth with the payment receipt id and we refund that charge.
- Failed or abandoned challenges are not charged.
- Disputes for completed, delivered requests follow the card network process; we respond with the settlement and delivery records.
How to request a refund
Write billing@rarefied.earth from the email on the account. Include the Stripe receipt or invoice number, the approximate charge date, and what went wrong. A person handles it; typical turnaround is a few business days once the facts are clear.
Consulting invoices
Hourly and fixed-fee consulting work is billed under the client MSA/SOW. Refunds, credits, and dispute paths for that work are whatever those documents say. This page does not change them.
